This 90-minute presentation is part of our monthly STEP meeting. I will cover the much-dreaded topic of PFIC, including how to identify PFICs, exceptions to the PFIC rules, and the tax consequences and planning opportunities for PFICs. Members and non-members may attend and lunch will be included. CPE available.

Topic: International Tax Law Changes under TCJA

I will go over the key international tax law changes under TCJA with an emphasis on the participation exemption, transition tax, and GILTI. There will be other interesting and relevant topics covered in this conference, including Mark Hugh’s discussions on the Wayfair case. CPE available.

M Squared has partnered with BABC and Brits Events NW to do a presentation on the US taxation of UK pension plans. This will be a panel format which will include myself, an immigration attorney, and the CEO of Florin Pensions LLC, which advices UK expatriates on UK pension transfers.
